I guess it depends on what skill tree you are using.

Use the warrior stances for melee mobs (which are tactics).
Then you have dolyak signet & balanced stance (+armor & immune to knockdown) against casters & knockdown monsters. this would be a correct link |

I find my best luck soloing is out against warrior mobs. I may not do a lot of damage, but at least i don't have to worry about the stupid spells that ignore most of my armor. at it certainly is nice to roll up to a mob and watch a string of zeros pop up sometimes

Don't have area attack? Ever heard of cyclone Axe? it's a nice AoE attack which attacks critters surrounding you :P
It all comes down to what skills you are using at the time. I know I'm not too far into the game, but groups of "warrior" types don't really bother me. I just take em down 1 at a time, using cyclone Axe now and again for more adren and to force them to use healing rather than attacking :P As Jelloblimp said, use your stances (Tactics attribute) when facing either melee or caster mobs (there are ones that suit either) and use your skills for whatever weapon you have to take them down. sure, Warrior might not have al those groovy AoE attacks/spells like say a Elementalist does.. but a warrior does have a few, and they are pretty darned good :P And anyways, I fid that focusing on 1 enemy at a time seems to work very well for me right now. No offense, but how you got to lvl 20 without working out how to deal with groups of critters is beyond me. Heck, I know i'm not the smartest cookie when it comes to playing games, but I've worked out various strategies for dealing with different critters (and no, they aren't all just blindly charge them and pray! :P). |

W/N- Mark of Pain- With 10 curses it will deal about 28-30 damage each time you attack in melee to each enemy nearby. VERY nice for mobs.
